About

‘The identity of Holland’ is Ezra Böhm’s photo-series. At only 22 years old, Ezra proposes a modern look on a part of Dutch heritage that struggles to stay alive. The traditional Dutch costume has lost the everyday life popularity it once had, resulting in a new generation that barely knows about its ancestors and surely doesn’t identify with its traditions. Ezra goes in search of the last remaining communities that still cherish their traditional costumes. He photographs the people proudly wearing their identity. They pose with such pride and authenticity that they come over as local hero's. They do not look disguised or outdated. There is something very natural about Ezra’s photos. His straightforward, honest portraits show the inherent beauty of the Dutchman; an ode to the Netherlands.
