Painting is my way of meditating
Kees is a Dutch painter. He used to be a carpenter before he picked up his passion for art with the support of his father. He is self-taught and mainly paints bowls (possibly with fruit) and flowers in monumental format that are striking in their photo-realistic execution.
What exactly does hyperrealism mean? It is an art movement that originated in the 1960s in which reality was depicted as realistically as possible.
Realistic painting is and remains a popular art form in art history. People like to admire the mastery of an artist. It is familiar, self-evident, a uniform language, recognisable craftsmanship and particularly impressive for its perfection.
