This red chapel is actually an abandoned psychiatric hospital named Meer en Berg. It opened in 1849 and was known as the 'madhouse'. In the 1930s, it housed around 1500 patients. The last patients left the hospital in 2002 and from then on it was abandoned. Though Stel can't prevent its decadence, he does capture its charm for eternity.
